Solar Impulse
Since 2011, Solar Impulse has been a specialist in boat manufacturing, and we are the first and only private mini marina operator in Sri Lanka.
Our areas of expertise include:

- Mast, boom, and sail making

- Modern sailing catamaran manufacturing (up to 51 ft.)
- Commercial mini marina operations
Our team is full of boat industry experts, and youth expertly trained by SLYG’s Building A Future Foundation to deliver world-class products and services. In addition to our manufacturing capabilities, we currently operate mini marinas in Mirissa and Beruwela.
BAFF Polymech
Established in 2008, BAFF Polymech is a leader in light and rigid sailing catamaran manufacture. Our team of 250 members, specialises in using high-tech materials and advanced boat-building techniques to take projects from design to launch. We are the first and largest Sri Lankan boat manufacturing company to use vacuum infusion technology for the production process.
Our areas of expertise include:
- Composite: Carbon, Glass and Natural Jute Fibres
- Infusion technology
- 3D printing using ABS materials
- Wood cutting CNC
- Metal cutting CNC
- Carbon mast making
- Rope making
BAFF Polymech also manufactures rubber and polyurethane industrial products, sails and composite products for exports, in addition to specialising in mechanical engineering.

The BAFF Polymech Koggala Boatyard is currently in the process of becoming ISO Certified. It also houses one of our joint ventures with Grand Large Yachting, which occupies 1,500 sqm of manufacturing space and is ISO Certified.

Our Welipatanwila Boatyard is outfitted with the latest technology for large builds and houses Baff Polymech’s main office. We are in the process of acquiring an additional 3 acres of land to expand its capacity.
